The Education & Assistance Corporation (EAC) will host its 3rd Annual “Celebrating Children” Party on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at the Crest Hollow Country Club from 6-8:30pm. The evening features Halloween activities and games for children of all ages as well as a children’s costume parade.
At the event, EAC will honor its Immediate Past Chairman of the Board of Directors, David E. Paseltiner Esq., of Jaspan, Schlesinger, Hoffman, LLP for his dedication and support of children’s causes, as well as recognize the Honorable Steve Israel, Member of Congress, 2nd Congressional District for his support of the Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center. The Suffolk County Attorney’s Office has been chosen to receive The Marcie Mazzola Foundation’s “Children’s Advocate of the Year Award” for their work on behalf of abused children.
The cost of dinner and the festivities is $75 for adults, $25 for children ages 6-14, and children under 5 are free. The proceeds from the Party will benefit EAC’s programs that protect children with a special focus on the EAC Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center. The Center provides a safe, neutral and child-oriented environment for child abuse victims. All necessary medical examinations and interviews of child victims are done at the Child Advocacy Center where children receive support and guidance throughout the investigation process. In addition, the Center serves as a resource for children and families to connect with community-based services, including therapy, help in meeting medical needs, and assistance with financial problems. EAC has helped over 3,039 children who have been sexually and physically abused since our Suffolk County Child Advocacy Center opened at the end of 1997.
