Long Island Chapter Champions
to Compete in Nationals Sept. 15-16

Congratulations to our EWGA Long Island Players who competed in the Metro Northeast Sectional Championship on August 19, 2006 at Great Gorge Golf Course at Crystal Springs Resort in New Jersey. Ten competitors across five handicap flights and one scramble team brought their best to the Championship, and many emerged victorious. At the end of the tournament - out of 30 potential spots of 1st, 2nd, 3rd low gross and low net, Long Island placed in 5 of the 30 spots! And we're thrilled that 3 of the 5 stoke play winners qualified to advance to the National Championship by winning 1st low gross or 1st Low Net in their flights. With 3 stroke play qualifiers this year, our Chapter has surpassed our previous record of 2 National Championship qualifiers. In addition, in only our second year sending a Scramble Team to Sectionals, we're excited to announce that our Scramble Team won 1st place and as such, also qualifies to advance to the National Championship to represent Long Island and the Metro Northeast Section.
